Lakemont, Bellevue is located in the southern part of Bellevue, and sits on the Northern face of Cougar Mountain. The famous Cougar Mountain Regional Wild park is just next door. Lakemont borders the nearby cities of Issaquah and Newcastle, and is one of the largest suburban areas of Bellevue.
Lakemont Bellevue consists of many communities such as Branderwood, Brighton, Creekside Circle, Longshadow Ridge, Wyngate, Woodcroft, Greystone, Findley Court, Silverleaf, Vuemont Meadows, Collingwood, Sky Mountain, Stratford, Chandler Park, Lakemont Woods, Forest Ridge, the Summit, Belvedere, Lakemont Highlands (Divisions I and II), and new luxury communities such as the Pinnacle, Belvedere, and The Peak.
Even though it is within Bellevue city boundaries, most homes in this area belong to the Issaquah School District. Issaquah School district has risen in ranks in recent years. Cougar Ridge Elementary is as good as Somerset elementary which as been widely known for its high quality education.
There is one small shopping center in Lakemont with a variety of stores including Starbucks, UPS, a grocery store, community banks, and other shops. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to Factoria Mall, a major shopping shopping hub in Bellevue and from there, another ten minutes to Newcastle Shopping area with a lot of ethnic restaurants and grocery stores.
The Lewis Creek Park along with the Community Center sits in the center of Lakemont as the community gathering place for recreation and education. More than 80% of the 55-acre park is preserved in its natural condition offering boardwalks and soft-surface trails. Lakemont residents enjoy outdoor activities like morning walks, sports, walking their pets, as well as attend educational seminars. Oh, did I mention the football field for kids? It’s a wonderful place for children to play outdoor sports and take training classes.
Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park is just minutes from Lakemont of Bellevue. Cougar Mountain Park preserves important wildlife habitats while offering ample opportunites for recreation. It’s roughly 3,115 acres. The park is connected to Squak Mountain State Park by the Cougar-Squak Corridor, which together create a protected area of public land of approximately 5,000 acres. Every summer there are several running events from Seattle.
There is a highly rated Open Window Private School in Lakemont that provides Kindergarten to Eighth Grade education with special programs designed for gifted students.
